These are two really rare cult classics.
They are ripped off VHS and its poor quality.
Burst City doesn't even have english subs.
But it doesnt really matter, the visual
impression is at large. Movies like these
just aren't made today.
Go here for info on Burst City:
STORY:Burst City is essentially a feature length punk rock music clip. The film is set in a kind of post-apocalyptic Japan where everyone is a punk, a freak or a brutal cop. There are non-stop riots in the streets, non-stop punk concerts, non-stop gang warfare, non-stop police brutality and non-stop car chases. This film is one hell of a wild ride and it left me feeling spun. The soundtrack is made up entirely of awesome Japanese punk rock and fits the images perfectly.
Death Powder do have subs, but the quality
is very low.
STORY: "Fans of hallucinatory head-movies will enjoy this bizarre sci-fi film from Japanese director Izumiya. Putting his
experience as a '70s protest-music pioneer to work, Izumiya creates a frightening world where a super-robot poisons
the air with a deadly psychedelic drug, enslaving the populace under the Scar People in the world of their
hallucinations. Eventually, their bodies begin to meld and change into a giant blob. Using computer graphics, black-
and-white narrative, and stock footage interpolated in strange and grotesque ways, Izumiya creates an unforgettably
odd film, in many ways the progenitor of such cult classics as Tetsuo, the Iron Man."
