Uneven started as a side project of two experienced musicians through which they wanted to combine their love for Metal with their love for Balkan ethno music. Soon, they found people willing to commit to this kind of music and the band was formed. The name "Uneven" comes from the bands extensive use of Balkan ethno music complex rhythms, like 7/8 or 11/8, which are uneven or odd when compared to usual 4/4 or 3/4.Although being a band from Serbia, Uneven's songs are in English so as to make the music and lyrics understandable to all nations in the Balkans, and beyond. The lyrical content of the songs covers a variety of topics, but the recurring themes are black humor, war, politics and other social issues, characteristic of their homeland or universal. But besides original songs, the band plays covers of famous folk songs done in heavy metal style. Currently, Uneven is promoting their Demo album and playing on tours across Serbia.
