Hisaishi Joe (bürgerliche Name: Fujisawa Mamoru; * 6. Dezember 1950 in Nagano) ist ein
erfolgreicher Komponist im Animebereich.

Er komponierte bereits während seiner College-Zeit auf der Kunitachi Musikschule
seine ersten Stücke. 1982 veröffentlichte er sein erstes Album in minimalistischem
Sound. 1983 bekam er von Hayao Miyazaki den Auftrag, die Filmmusik für Nausicaä, of
the Valley of Wind zu komponieren. Seitdem komponiert er für das Studio Ghibli und
für den Regisseur Kitano Takeshi.
