1975 saw the original release of The Hanged Man soundtrack on Contour records, an album of incidental music that accompanied Yorkshire television's thriller series of the same name (the Hanged Man theme was also used as backing music for the Two Ronnies' The Worm That Turned sketches), now the album sees its full reissue on dc recordings and becomes available on cd for the first time. Since its original release The Hanged Man has become a highly collectable album within the break beat/hip hop field and has recently been sampled by the likes of Buck 65, Jurassic 5, the Street SmartZ and DJ Vadim amongst others. Featuring a superb selection of beautifully orchestrated jazz, funk and rock fusions composed by Alan Tew the album is as compulsive listening today as it was in the 70'S.
