Biografia:

Massimo Bubola made his debut in 1976 with the album "Nastro Giallo"; thanks to this record, Fabrizio De André, one of the most important and historical italian folk-singer (1940-1999), decided to ask his collaboration for the music and the lyrics for the records "Rimini" (1978) and "L'indiano" (1981): those albums, featuring songs as "Andrea", "Sally" and "Fiume Sand Creek", gave new vitality to De André's artistic path.
In the meantime, Bubola keeps on his writing of brilliant folk-rock songs, releasing in 1979 the album "Marabel", in which the sound of electric guitars meets folkish accents and the lirycs are deeply poetic and brilliant.
On a litterary point of view, Bubola reaffirms what Ginsberg said about Dylan , that Bob put poetry in a juke-box , and Massimo's been doing that writing songs with profound and detailed liriycs. All of his career, Bubola has been singing and reciting those songs also in poetry happenings and festivals, together with artists such as Gregory Corso, Lou Reed, Eric Andersen and many others.
"Tre Rose" (1981) is Bubola's third studio album, produced by Fabrizio De André. With a more intimistic sound, and plenty of acustic guitars, "Tre Rose" is the first album by Bubola to hit the italian top ten. Two years later, in 1983, Fado releseas a new record, "Massimo Bubola", which features great classical ballads and a sound more electrical than the previous record.
In this period of his career Massimo starts a number of collaborations as author with other fellow artists: among these we must mention "Il cielo d'Irlanda", that has become very popular in the interpretation by folksinger Fiorella Mannoia. Besides that, during the years Bubola has always followed his passion for the Americana music, translating into italian great songs such as "Romance in Durango" ("Avventura a Durango") by Bob Dylan, "Into the great wide open" ("Nel grande spazio aperto") by Tom Petty and "Baby love me like you did before" ("Billi Billi") by Willy De Ville.
In 1989 Bubola is ready to release a new album, "Vita, morte e miracoli", in which his unique way of writing is once again reaffirmed. Five years later, in 1994, the songwriter releases "Doppio Lungo addio", considered by many critics and journalists the most important rock album in italian language. His career has come to a brillian maturity and his later production ("Mon trésor", 1997 and "Diavoli e farfalle", 1999) is rich of great songs and ballads with lirycs more and more poetic and precise in their descriptions. Between 2001 and 2002 Bubola releases the first three volumes of "Il cavaliere elettrico", a live collection that offers to the listeners the strenght and the magic of Bubola's shows.
After that, it's time to go back in the studio to record "Segreti trasparenti": released in 2004, the album has received a great acclaim both by the critics and by the public.
In November 2004 Massimo releases "Il Cavaliere Elettrico IV (I personaggi)", the last chapter of his live quadrilogy. This album is focused mostly on Massimo's folk rock songs, such as "Voltalacarta", "Coda di Lupo", "Lorelei", "Eurialo & Niso", "Camicie Rosse", "Dino Campana", "Dostoevskij" and many more. All of those songs, which can be easily described as poetry in music, are a sort of biography songs: within the little space provided by the verse-chorus structure of the pop song, Massimo manages to describe in detail the lives of famous and common people. The songs contained in this record show once again the status of balladeer reached by the artist in his most important works.
Then, in 2005, with a new record, "Quel lungo treno", Bubola digs deep into the folkish roots of the Veneto region, his homeland: the album is almost a concept album on First World War, that in Veneto, the only italian border touched by the war, has been particularly painful not only for the soldiers but also for the people.
In 2006 Bubola releases "Neve sugli Aranci", his first book, containing poetries and letters with musical commentary.
