My son, Marcke Fredric Wilson, was an able-bodied assistant to me in my more than 10 years
at Radio Canale Grandé in Neu-Ulm, Germany. He literally grew up listening to some of the
best music, especially but not only Rock music, and helped compile some of the music that I
used in my many different shows that included: 'Rick's Canale Grandé', 'Vicious Metal Killers',
'Der Zeitmaschine' (The Time Machine), 'Live In Concert', and for a couple of years, southern
Germany's hottest Reggae show, 'Rick's Café'! So recently, when Marcke expressed his interest
to me in compiling a sampler of the best music from all of the shows, according to him, I was
not only flattered but brimming over with anticipation! What YOU may not know, is that Marcke
is only 17-years-old! So, to my surprise when I noticed that the majority of the songs he
chose were from the '70's then I encouraged him to keep it in that era. And, what YOU now are
witnessing is just the first of the eight CDs that he has compiled, quite literally the best of
the Seventies, indeed! Even more astounding in this day and age where seperation instead of
reunification seems to be the motto, Marcke collects Soul, Country, Pop & Rock Classics together
as if they belonged that way all along, and maybe they really do! So, in an age where we have
seen the call of 'Yes, we can!' answered in faith it should come quite natural to hear great
songs like 'I Am...I Said' together on one CD with the likes of bands like 'Foreigner' & 'Cheap
Trick' while at the same time rubbing shoulders with Bob Marley and the 'O'Jays'! So, if YOU
too want to be 'in' instead of 'out' then join Eric Burdon & Jimmy Witherspoon in proclaiming
that 'The Laws Must Change', because the people are 'free at last, thank God, almighty'! If
my hard-rockin' son can see that then we all can! - Rick Wilson, former Rock Radio Journalist
with Radio Canale Grandé.

On this the 2nd CD, of this torrent, and with six CDs still to come, my son, Marcke Fredric Wilson, has once again compiled a unique, but contending set of songs that represent for him the best of the Seventies. Now Marcke is not trying to weigh us down with songs that YOU would find on many other collections nor is he taking a road totally untraveled and offers some bands like here, 'The Beatles', but using one of the songs that the band are not famous for, but certainly is also a great one! Still, there are Hits here like 'Life In The Fast Lane' from 'The Eagles', and 'Rhiannon' from 'Fleetwood Mac'. But, how many of YOU can remember 'The Ides Of March', great songwriter, Jim Peterik's (Yes, he of 'Survivor' fame!) first and current band? Or, how many more of YOU can recall that a band called, 'Hello' were the first to record Russ Ballard's 'New York Groove', and not Ace Frehley of 'Kiss'? So, I recommend diving right into this well-rounded second CD while YOU still can, and preparing one's self for the following six CDs, because, believe me, YOU won't regret it! - Rick Wilson, former Rock Radio Journalist with Radio Canale Grandé.
