Dear Forest is the debut of Seattle singer/songwriter Young Jesse. An eclectic and moody album, full of genre bending including flowing choral pieces & heavily distorted bass guitars. Despite tipping the scales at a lean 35 minutes, there are still enough layers in the recordings to leave the listener satisfied. Dear Forest plays well as an entire piece, with most songs bleeding into the next. Though some songs up beat, and others slow, it maintains a dark and brooding sound throughout. It is easy to tell this is a first album, but it is surely an intriguing first endeavor. Definitely worth a listen.
