This collection was issued bi-weekly in 1994 as fascicles and CDs with the same name.

Questa antologia musicale è stata distribuita nel 1994 dal quotidiano "la Repubblica" con fascicoli quindicinali, in occasione dei quarant'anni dalla nascita del rock. Dal fascicolo che apre l'antologia, l'introduzione di Guglielmo Pepe:
[quote]Quella musica, nel giro di poco tempo, stravolse la vita dei giovani, ribaltò i rapporti familiari, creò una nuova cultura, modificò i comportamenti sessuali.
Dai primi giorni della rivoluzione prende spunto il nostro viaggio musicale in dodici tappe, fino agli anni Novanta, alla realtà che stiamo vivendo. L'itinerario offre il meglio della musica americana, attraverso la voce dei protagonisti e il suono delle rock-band. E' un viaggio negli Stati Uniti, in un grande paese che non per caso ha visto nascere il rock: dunque è storia politica, sociale, culturale. Ma è anche racconto, vita vissuta da uomini e donne. Come ci ricorda Francesco Guccini nel suo secondo romanzo, Vacca d'un cane: "...per non esser da meno degli americani un bel bàito (confusione, ndr.) lo facemmo, lo si doveva fare, soprattutto quando quello col ricciolone tirabaci, Bill Haley, arrivò con la sua canzone, introdotta da un break di batteria che cambiò il mondo e il modo di vedere la vita".
