5th and the last Velvet Underground studio album. Often underestimated because of lead singer being Doug Yule instead of Lou Reed who left the band in August 1970 during recording of "Loaded".
Squeeze is very controversial among Velvet's fans and often not even regarded as a truly VU album. Initially it gained terrible reviews, probably because of the difference or even contrast with earlier work, especially first two albums - "The Velvet Underground & Nico" (1967) and "White Light, White Heat" (1968).
However, some say that Squeeze might have had much better success if it was initially promoted as Doug Yule's solo debut and not as VU.
For some reason this is extremely rare record and I had hard times finding it but it surely deserves to be in every VU collection so I bring it to you.
