Growing up in Maryborough, guitarist James Macer and drummer Kody Thompson formed Velocity in 2004 after occasionally jamming together. Recruiting two additional members to complete the line-up, the Metallica-influenced four-piece spent the next 12 months playing at various local concerts.
The bands determination paid off, as Velocity was declared winners of Maryborough's 2005 Battle of the Bands contest. In July 2005 the band entered the studio to record material for a future EP release.
It was after relocating to Bendigo that Kody met Jacob DeAraugo, a guitarist who joined the band in early 2006. Music played a key role in Jacobs family, with his dad and brother both excelling guitarists, and his cousin being Australian Idol winner Kate DeAraugo.
Now requiring a bass player, Kody enquired from other local bands and was directed to former Something for Nothing member Cade Pinner. With Cade rounding out the new line-up, the band has since been renamed Hidden Vision.
With primary songwriters James and Kody having already penned more than a dozen songs together, Hidden Vision plays mostly original material, mixing it with some classic rock and metal covers.
The whole band are currently writing new material and plan to head back into the studio very soon to produce their debut EP... but until then, please enjoy these 2 new studio recordings.
