Anubis Spire - 2007 - Children Of A Foreign Fate [VBR HQ]
Genre: Progressive Rock
Country: USA

Anubis Spire biography (at
Anubis Spire was formed new years day 1998 after a chance jam session the night before. Made up of musical veterans who wanted to write and play music in the mid-seventies style of such bands as "Led Zeppelin", "Mahavishnu Orchestra", etc., the band set about melding it's various influences and adding a heavy dose of world and ethnic sounds and a modern twist to the mix. The debut album Old Lions (in the world of snarling sheep) was recorded in a barn, on an antiquated 8 track almost entirely Live!

Album review (at
Anubis Spire has come as a real surprise to my ears, after two releases, they come back wih a innovative approach that, certainly will put them in the premier league of todays progscene. The music is a mind expanding journey that combines spaces sound of Pink Floyd, with a rick and energetic Hard Rock elements, also crossing parts of a Classic Rock, Melodic Metal and of course, the best in Symphonic Progressive Rock. I can considers this work as success, a fine album, which maintain a good standard throughout and features rich instrumentation, including hooky songwriting, lots of atmospheric keyboards in all of their musical moments, also featuring a solid bass and a vibrant drums, complemented by melodic and lovely vocals, but the main highlights are on a variety of dreamy guitars solos, can be found in all compositions. Another fine album, especially for all the progressive rock fans, who always are looking for something different and very exciting. Brilliant and fantastic, an incredible album and an amazing band, highly recommendable...
