Almost named "No Adjust" and "Bugger Machang", 10 Second Rule taps into a genre that is the bastard child of a threesome between funk, blues and alternative. More red-bull and less vodka sees this band dish out high energy music as a unit which focusses more on the song and sound than on individual brilliance.
10 Second Rule's first album, "Monsoon Sunday 2: Storm", was released at Rockapoluza held in August 2007, where a limited edition of 200 copies were given out FOC! The album was raw alt rock at it's best featuring heavy bass lines, funky riffs, screaming solos and some fancy work on the skin, and was a clear distinction from song-writer Aadhil's previous release with the Brass Monkey Band, "Monsoon Sunday 1: Warning Signs".
The final chapter of the trilogy, "Monsoon Sunday 3: After the Rain", promises is a fusion of styles evident in the first two albums, and more in a blues/groove/funk/alternative genre. The 12 track album also features guest performances by the fabulous guitarist Sarani Perera and master percussionist Pabalu Wijegoonawardena, both of Thriloka fame.
The band launched the album with an online release on February 4th 2008
