Assassin is a French hardcore rap group.
The pioneering group was formed in 1985 in Paris by Rockin' Squat and Solo.
Later, Doctor L joined them, as well as DJ Clyde and the American SwizzieRoc.
True to their musical and lyrical roots, Assassin are primarily interested in social criticism and uncompromising music.
he group had a significant presence on the French underground music scene in the 1980s and 1990s,
with lyrics referencing social inequalities and denouncing commercialism.
He has tried for more than 15 years to elevate the mind of the ghetto,
similar to KRS-One or Chuck D in America.
His music promotes the positive thinking and educational elements of hip hop.
Rockin' Squat is Jean-Pierre Cassel's (movie director) son and brother of Vincent Cassel (actor).

Rockin Squat, de son vrai nom Mathias Crochon, est le fils du comédien Jean-Pierre Cassel et le frère de Vincent Cassel.
Il fait ses débuts dans le rap français vers le milieu des années 1980
où il fonde avec Solo, et Dj Clyde le groupe de rap français Assassin
(dont le logo est dessiné par Colt).
Il crée Assassin Productions, destiné à auto-produire leur musique,
la première auto-production dans le rap français...
