HIGHLANDER II: The Quickening - Special Zeist Edition
This is the second release by Phineasbg and Oldbiff85 Fan Videos
What is it about?
Description: Sequel to 1986's Highlander, in which Christopher Lambert reprises his role as Connor MacLeod, a member of the alien race known as "Immortals," banished to Earth from his home planet Zeist some 500 years ago. In the year 1999, Lambert owns a corporation that has created a shield to protect the Earth following the depletion of the ozone layer. But the shield is seized by an evil cartel, and Virginia Madsen plays a scientist who assists MacLeod in his mission to destroy the cartel. Sean Connery also reprises his role from Highlander as the Scottish Immortal named Ramirez.
About this version - This version includes the all new Special Edition FX including the new blue shield effects. The film is combination of the American version, Renegade Version and the Special Edtion - Included in this cut is the Special Edition/ Renegade sequence of events and restores the planet Zeist, the Prize, the Quickening, and other major references which had been cut out.
*Twenty-Four minutes have been added to the original theatrical runtime.
*The gun fight between McCloud and the guards at the shield corporation near the end of the film has been restored and color corrected. Why this particular sequence was taken out is bizarre. Now the flow of the movie is restored and not effected: Now we no longer just go from being on a mountain top looking down onto the shield straight into the shield core chamber where Macleod fights Katana. Anyone who may have not seen previous versions of this movie may have wondered ( by viewing the 2004 Special Edition) just how the hell they got back into the core chamber so easily in the first place.

Some of you might think that the universe is solid and nothing can be changed
the way nature has made it. Genetics should have proven you wrong already.
But still some you believe that a movie, which is not so much of a universe in
itself should not be altered, is supposed to be the way it is. The CBB group
disagrees with you in that totally. When a director along with his executive
producers and his producers and the many more people having a say in making
a movie and being responsible or taking responsibility for a cut, decide to have a movie this or that way, they have no idea if the outcome is good or will be liked or not. Quality cannot be just created, it is far more than a few good ideas put together. We all have seen great efforts who failed in the end (best example might be Matrix Revolutions). Now are we forced to accept that a movie stays the way it is? The movie stations make their personal cuts, the studios do, the producers do, the directors do and finally we have 10 different versions of the same movie material (e.G.Dawn of the Dead). Is this bad? No. It is very good this way, because the watcher, YOU, can decide, what you like best. And the CBB group thinks that touching movie material, altering it to get a new result, which could be highly enjoyable, not to joke around or make fun, but seriously tell the known story in an unknown way, can be considered for viewing pleasure and therefore done.
