This is intended for blu ray hardware playback ( blu ray player, ps3 ).
In the torrent there is an AVCHD blu ray disk structure for burning onto a DVD. If burned correct, it gives a disk that plays directly on blu ray players and ps3 as a blu ray movie disk.

Burning instructions:

Burn the contents of the avchd folder onto a udf data dvd using the udf 2.5 burning format.

There is apparently an older brand os Sony blu ray player that doesn't support this format. Please consult the manual for your blu ray player first if you are unsure if it supports these or not.

If you do down this and you find your blu ray player doesn't support the format then you can still copy the main movie out from the structure and use it like a pc file.
It resides in the "BDMV/STREAM" folder and is called 00001.m2ts.
