The Revölution By Night is a Blue Öyster Cult album released in 1983.

This was the first album not to feature all of the band's founding members. Drummer Albert Bouchard was fired during the previous tour.
This was the first Blue Öyster Cult album longer than 42 minutes (discounting double live albums).
This album was produced by Bruce Fairbairn, who would later go on to produce three of the most popular albums by the band Aerosmith - Permanent Vacation, Pump, and Get a Grip.
Aldo Nova is a guest guitarist on, and co-writer of, the track "Take Me Away."
Randy Jackson, of American Idol fame, plays the bass part on "Shooting Shark."
The lyrics to "Shooting Shark" were based on a poem by Patti Smith.
