The Carry Outs official MySpace! www.myspace.com/thecarryoutschicago The Carry Outs were a Ramones punk band from the Northwest Side of Chicago that played from 1996-2000. The Carry Outs consisted of Greg as guitarist/singer, Skankin’ as Bassist, and Dan Danimal on drums. The band started when Dan and Greg played Green Day and Nirvana covers in Dan’s basement while still in 8th grade. Later on, the band discovered underground bands that were much more talented than Nirvana or Green Day as well as rock ’n’ roll legends such as the Ramones. Towards the end of their short-lived career they tried to sound as much as they could like the Ramones. They even sported Chuck Taylor shoes, tight jeans, and leather jackets. The Carry Outs played a few shows: one at the Gateway Theatre (December 1997), Guitar Center on Halsted (November 15, 1998), and IIT. The Carry Outs sadly never got to play at the Fireside Bowling Alley on Fullerton. The Carry Outs recorded one tape called "Another Ramones Tribute". At this time there was an explosion of bands releasing covers of even full Ramones albums. The Carry Outs did not want to miss this bandwagon! They recorded live in Greg’s basement with the help of Rich Szczepanski (guitarist of the English Softhearts) & Bill Morton on 12/12/98 and 12/13/98. They also recorded some of their own songs during these two sessions which were never released. Some of the songs from this recording session (the Ramones covers as well as some of the bands’ originals) have been converted to Mp3 and uploaded to this site. Feel free to download.
