Plot:

The movie begins with Sophia (Urvashi Sharma) being captured in photographs and videos by an unknown person behind the camera. Sophia works at Burger King in

Dubai as a counter attendant. Karan Oberoi (Bobby Deol) is a millionaire and Sophia is in love with him and lives with him but pays him the rent also. Karan

proposes Sophia for marriage and she accepts. Sophia goes to a restaurant with her friends to throw a party for her friends for her engagement. There she is

invited to chose a man of her choice from among the people available there, to dance with for the last time before being bound in holy matrimony according to

an Egyptian tradition. There she chooses to dance with Vicky (Akshaye Khanna) who has come there with his two friends. Vicky is already interested in Sophia

and was shooting her through his video camera all that while. They have a passionate dance and end up almost kissing each other when Sophia’s friend drops

her glass to break their moment. Sophia runs out and hurts herself for being carried away despite being engaged. It is also revealed that someone is always

shooting Sophia, Karan and Vicky through whatever they are doing. Vicky goes to meet Sophia at her work to ask her out for a date. She refuses to come or to

meet him ever again. Sophia later feels that someone is always following her which is actually the unknown person who is always shooting the actions of the

three main characters. She thinks that person to be Vicky and goes to meet him at their scheduled date but slaps him instead. Vicky tries to impress her and

is successful.

Sophia begins to feel more at ease being in company of Vicky than Karan’s and hence is a bit reluctant to marry Karan now. Vicky is shown to be hideously

working for a man named Rohit, who is paying Vicky on a contract to impress Sophia to move her away from her fiancé. Karan fixes the date for marriage and

has Sophia sign the agreement for marriage. Vicky decides that he would not play with Sophia’s life for money as Sophia begins to be lured by Vicky and Vicky

has started to fall for Sophia. He phones Rohit and breaks the contract. Karan and Sophia go to a beach event where Vicky is going to perform for money as he

has no job now. Sophia meets him there but Vicky just informs her that he has been playing with her all the while and she shouldn’t take all this affair

seriously.

Sophia breaks down and confesses to Karan back at home. Karan forgives her and asks her for her approval for marriage. She agrees to marry. On the wedding

day, Sophia declines to take Karan as her husband and runs away to Vicky’s house. They make love. Meanwhile, the unknown person who shoots all their actions

turns out to be Sam(Rajendranath Zutshi), a detective booked by Karan to keep a check on Sophia. He meets Karan and deposits all the equipments used to shoot

Sophia to keep a check on her. Sophia asks for forgiveness from Karan for the humiliation caused to him due to her at the church. Karan is furious at Sophia

and asks her leave. She leaves but later while sitting outside his house, sees a medical van coming with Police. Police informs Sophia that Karan has

committed suicide by shooting himself through the mouth. Sophia goes back to Vicky and informs him of Karan’s death. Both of them blame themselves for being

the cause of Karan’s death.

Vicky discloses to Sophia that he had been booked for a contract by Rohit to lure Sophia to take her away from her fiancé to make a reality movie. It is

disclosed to the audience visually, that Karan Oberoi and Rohit are the same persons. Rohit is the director of the reality movie and the friends who

accompanied Vicky all the time are the producers of the movie. They had planned to make a reality movie where Vicky would lure Sophia away from Karan, where

Karan is the character played by Rohit himself. Rohit comes to visit Vicky where he comes face to face with Sophia too. Rohit explains to both of them how

all their actions were shot using hidden cameras in Vicky's house and how he had obtained Sophia's consent signature through the marriage agreement that she

signed. He is about to showcase the movie at various film festivals and warns Vicky and Sophia not to cause any problem or he would release an uncut version

of their love making video on the internet.

The movie is then titled "Naqaab" and goes on to win all the Best Film awards at all the award ceremonies and film festivals. The movie has not been released

worldwide yet which Rohit plans to do only once the movie has been shown at the Goa Film Festival. Sophia engages with Rohit now leaving Vicky behind just as

a character in the movie. The movie is again awarded the Best Film award at one of the Indian award ceremonies. When Rohit walks towards the stage, he is

shot by Vicky three times. Rohit is rushed to the hospital whereas Vicky is taken into custody. There Vicky explains that he was asked by the producers to

shoot Rohit using fake bullets to shoot another stunt for the movie before releasing it. But Rohit has been shot using real bullets from a gun that is

recovered from the producers who are framed on the charges for murder, as during interrogation, Rohit dies in the hospital. The gun is filmed in the hands of

one of the producers, through the video camera that they were going to use to film the stunt, due to which he is framed under murder charges.

Later it is shown, that though Vicky had used a fake bullets’ gun, Sophia shoots Rohit, to avenge what Rohit did with her, using a gun with real bullets,

standing right next to Vicky. While pretending to be scared and running towards Rohit, she puts the gun in the producer’s coat’s pocket. He takes it out and

throws it under the table which is filmed using his own camera. After the world premiere, Vicky and Sophia are shown enjoying the success of the movie while

the producers are shown locked up in jail.
