Release Notes:

a new punk-rock gaelic album from oi polloi shows that gaelic rock is alive
loud, and aggressive. the songs are anything but the tame cliche of old-style
gaelic music, with an anger about the state of the language coming through loud
and clear in the music. this is very oi polloi in style musically but better
than much of their recent stuff. its an interesting debate the relevance of
local languages and how to keep them real. oi polloi have nailed their black
flags to the mast of gaelic with some conviction and released this coloured
vinyl all in gaelic. funnily enough that is good for some of us in two ways
firstly cos it reminds us what it must be like for all the non-english speakers
in the punk rock world and secondly because we don't get irritated by the usual
oi polloi painfully simple and repetitive choruses!. gaelic doesn't sound quite
as angry as german but captain deek and the crew do a good job making it sound
as though they are thoroughly displeased with the state of affairs we are in
english translations lacking but good punk rock in full force
