Stephen Baldwin is on a mission. He wants to see top action sports athletes performing and sharing a message of purpose and hope with people.
For the last couple of years, Baldwin’s been working to make this happen. He started in 2003 with a 45-minute DVD called Livin It. He directed the film in Portland, Oregon, one of the nation's hot spots for skateboarding and enlisted the help of talented skateboarders like Jud Heald, Tim Byrne, Luke Braddock, Anthony Carney, Jared Lee, Phil Trotter, and Sierra Fellers.
More than 90,000 action sports fans now own a copy of Livin It. You won’t find a DVD anywhere like this. It combines solid skateboarding action with what Baldwin calls a real message about life.
Skate/bmx film by Stephen Baldwin and Kevin Palau Straight to a generation attached to the culture of "core sports" comes "Livin' It," a high-impact outreach film featuring extreme athletes who live out their Christian faith every day. The project comes from PalauFest Productions, a ministry of the Oregon-based Luis Palau Association which has produced some of the largest Christian celebrations in recent memory. One of the most successful parts of these "Great music - Good News" festivals is a massive, custom-built skate park where tens of thousands of young fans have heard the Gospel. "Livin' It" puts this festival excitement on film as some of the top professionals in skateboarding and BMX riding stretch their talent and their faith on their boards, on their bikes and on the streets.
Director/producer/host Stephen Baldwin brings the experience of two decades of film making to the Palau team's mission to bring young people to Christ. Baldwin and Executive Producer Kevin Palau assembled a talented and motivated team of film makers and athletes who captured extreme stunts and sports action along with face-to-face, street style evangelism. The fruit of their work is "Livin' It," a contemporary, relevant evangelistic tool that pastors, organizations and young Christians can boldly use to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. The 40-minute main feature is packaged with nearly 90-minutes of bonus material including celebrity and athlete testimonies, outtakes, and a clear, youth oriented Gospel presentation. It also includes footage from the Beachfest Fort Lauderdale festival that drew the largest spring break crowd in history to south Florida. Since its April 2004 release over 57,000 copies of the Livin' It DVD have been distributed through Christian retail, online sales, churches, Livin' It events and a number of ministry partners including Teen Mania, Compassion International, and Youth for Christ
