Uniblue launches DriverScanner: a brand new driver update management product
26 August 2008
Uniblue Systems, the company behind RegistryBooster, SpeedUpMyPC and Processlibrary.com has launched the brand new product DriverScanner. DriverScanner updates a PC’s drivers, boosting system performance, improving functionality and increasing operability with networks and hardware.
Drivers either come installed with the operating system or they can be set up from a CD that accompanies a new piece of hardware. Like any software, drivers are regularly improved by the manufacturers, to fix bugs, errors and conflicts with other programs, or just to add new functionality. This means that unless updated regularly, drivers will become outdated potentially causing a range of PC problems, from the relatively minor, such as hardware that seems buggy and poorly performing, to the more major such as hardware failures, conflicts and complete system crashes.
In theory drivers can be updated manually. But with so many drivers and manufacturers it is difficult to keep track which have been updated and improved. DriverScanner simplifies the time consuming and demanding process of updating drivers by scanning for outdated drivers on a PC to generate a full list of the drivers that need to be updated. The user then chooses which drivers they want DriverScanner to download and install directly onto the PC. DriverScanner will also backup drivers to an external device meaning that users also have the reassurance of knowing that if they ever have to install their operating system from scratch, they can load all of their drivers, simply, from a single location.
The key features of DriverScanner are:
Driver scanner engine works via a single click
Identification of drivers requiring an update
Download of updated drivers specific to the hardware and OS
Comprehensive driver download history
Driver backup and restore to and from external devices
Triggering installations of the upgrades
Backup of current drivers and restore feature
Use of restore points as a backup plan in case of faulty drivers
Reporting of defective drivers directly from the interface
Clear and simple to use interface.
