This documentary series takes a look at burglaries in the UK and the people affected by them - as well as a look at how to stop them from happening.


1) Vernon and Ann
Dan Donnelly meets a couple whose home was hit twice by burglars while they were abroad on holiday. Also in this episode, former police officer Jacqui Hames gets some top tips on protecting your property while you are away from home.

2) Barbara
Dan Donnelly helps a grandmother who was the victim of a callous distraction burglary in Leeds. Two thieves posed as water-company workmen to steal money and jewellery from under her nose. Meanwhile Jacqui Hames finds out how technology is helping to identify distraction burglars and gets some top tips on protecting mobile homes and caravans from break-ins.

3) Luke and Tina
Dan helps the victims of a burglary in Leeds to improve their security after thieves stole their grandson\'s bicycle while they were asleep. Meanwhile former police officer Jacqui Hames gets some advice on how to prevent bikes from being stolen.

4) Victor and Helena
Dan helps an elderly couple from Burnley to improve their security after callous thieves stole their television while they were asleep. Jacqui Hames discovers how the police are encouraging people to keep an eye on vulnerable neighbours.

Dan Donnelly comes to the aid of a seriously ill man in Preston who woke up to find a burglar in his home. Jacqui Hames hears from a woman who decided she would confront the man who stole from her, face to face.

Dan helps a retired couple near Preston to improve their security after thieves broke in through a window to steal jewellery and a valuable carriage clock. Plus former police officer Jacqui Hames explains how you can take steps to prevent your car from being stolen.

The strange case of a very hungry burglar with a taste for cornflakes. Dan Donnelly is on the hunt for a burglar in Preston who left a trail of food for the police to follow. Jacqui Hames helps a man who had his moped stolen improve the security at his family\'s home in Leeds. Dan Donnelly meets a group of Lancashire shopkeepers who teamed up to tackle a crimewave that was crippling their businesses.

Dan Donnelly helps a couple who\'d only just moved into their new home near Leeds when they were hit by a devastating burglary. Plus Jacqui Hames uncovers the secrets of the burglar, finding out how they decide which properties to target.
