Set in the early 19th century (in French-occupied Germany!) Will Grimm (Damon) and Jake Grimm (Ledger) are siblings who travel the countryside as snake-oil salesmen, convincing unsuspecting towns that they are haunted and agreeing to get rid of the demons; all for a price of course. In the meantime they set their tales down in writing, creating a wealth of oddball, offbeat, and frightening characters. But after they are caught by General Delatombe (Pryce) and his sidekick Cavaldi (Stormare), they are sent to the tiny village of Marbaden to solve the mysterious disappearance of a number of young girls, placing them in the middle of a fantasy world unlike any they\'d ever invented...

De världsberömda sagoförfattande bröderna Grimm inledde sin karriär som lurendrejare i ande- och spökutdrivningsbranschen i 1800-talets Tyskland. Det gav bra inkomster och medförde få risker, eftersom det var brödernas assistenter som mycket övertygande spelade de andar och spöken som skulle fördrivas. Men lurendrejarna faller i sin egen fälla när de plötsligt står inför en verklig förhäxad skog med riktiga varulvar, riktiga häxor och alldeles påtaglig livsfara! Bakom filmen om bröderna Grimm står ingen mindre än Mr Monty Python (regissören och manusförfattaren Terry Gilliam). Bröderna spelas av Matt Damon och Heath Ledger.
