Total Uninstall to kompletny program odinstalowujący, zawierający dwa oddzielnie działające moduły. Moduł zainstalowanych programów analizuje istniejące instalacje i tworzy logi ze zmianami instalacji. Potrafi on odinstalować programy nawet bez udziału „Dodaj/Usuń programy”. Przy usuwaniu programu analizuje i pokazuje widok drzewa wykrytych plików, katalogów, kluczy rejestru i ustawień programu. Daje to możliwość przejrzenia szczegółów i usunięcia niektórych z wykrytych pozycji. Total Uninstall odinstalowuje aplikacje najpierw przy użyciu systemowego „Dodaj/Usuń Programy”, a następnie kontynuuje usuwanie przy użyciu plików log.

Drugim modułem Total Uninstall jest moduł monitorujący programy, który pomaga monitorować każde zmiany zachodzące w systemie podczas instalacji nowych programów. Pozwala to przygotować całkowitą deinstalację bez potrzeby korzystania z „Dodaj/Usuń Programy”, który potrafi pozostawić pliki i dokonane zmiany. Total Uninstall tworzy „zdjęcie” twojego systemu przed instalacją nowego programu. Dodatkowy obraz tworzony jest także po instalacji. Porównuje on obydwa obrazy i i wyświetla wszystkie zmiany w graficznym widoku drzewa, zaznaczając wszystkie wartości rejestru i/lub pliki, które zostały dodane, zmienione lub usunięte.
