Yes, Euro 2008 is one for the purists, Gary, because England (indeed all the home nations) didn't qualify. Hurrah! Let's concentrate on the football instead. Co-hosts Switzerland start us off, taking on the Czech Republic in Basle (kick-off 5pm). The ageing Czechs aren't half the team that nearly won Euro 2004, and could easily lose to the dour, prosaic Swiss.
