AC/DC are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. Although the band are commonly classified as hard rock, and considered pioneers of heavy metal, they have always classified their music as "rock and roll". They have sold more than 200 million albums worldwide, including 71 million albums in the United States. AC/DC ranked fourth on VH1's list of the "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock" and the seventh "Greatest Heavy Metal Band Of All Time" by MTV. In 2004, the band was ranked number 72 in the Rolling Stone list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.

'Thunderstruck' is the first song on the 1990 AC/DC album 'The Razors Edge'. The song peaked at No.5 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks. It was released as a single in Germany, Australia and Japan. The video which accompanied the single was filmed at London's Brixton Academy on August 17th 1990. The audience members were given free T-Shirts with the words 'AC/DC - I was Thunderstruck' on the front and the date on the back, and these T-shirts were worn by the entire audience throughout the filming of the video. The video to Thunderstruck on YouTube, as of January 2009, has had over 16 million views.
