Rudram is vaidik sUktam.
it is BagvAn Sankar\\\'s stuti,in sanskrit language.
It describes the \\\"viSvarupa\\\" of BagavAn Sankar.
like the chapter 11 of BHagavad Geeta describes
vishvarupa.
It is very difficult to chant it correctly,
but if chanted following all the rules of
chanting,it is a wonderful listening experience.
If chanted with meaning one would feel
sakSAt Bagavant in front of him.
Like any other vaidik stotras it has to offer
any desired Palam.....Darma arTa kAm & mokSa.
It is chanted as poem.
so its words follow certain rules;
it is tuned in \\\"anushtub Canda\\\".......i.e. each line will have 8 alphabates.
(Bhagvag Geeta has most verses in anushtup Canda while few in trishtup)
It has two parts;
first one is called namakam......I offer my praNamas ...namaskara-----
to the form described in the text.
this part has again 11 anuvakas.....11 parts
in each one different sets of forms are described as his rupam.
then second part follows
It is called...Camakam.....Ca me.....may I have it.......BaktA is asking
many things....fullfilling his manyfold diversity of desires.
so that his upaDi is allthe time in nice condition & he can surrender himself
totally to him,offer himself to his cause & ultimately be like him....at first his
Bakta & then one with him.
One who desires Darma ,arTa or kAm is sure to get what he wants,but mokSarTi
not only assured of much desired antahkaraN SudDi but also his frace for attaining moksha for sure.
While chanting all the rules are strictly followed......hense it is
desired that one learns chanting from a guru who has learnt from his guru...
Rules of grammer,pronounciation are of utmost importance.
