Ambres - Ett 3000 år gammalt medvetande som talar genom en enkel snickare i norra Värmland.

En dag 1976 hände det som kom att förändra Sture Johanssons liv. Hans dåvarande hustru drog med en motvillig Sture till en meditationsgrupp. Sture var trött efter arbetsdagarna och brukade somna i rummet. Men en gång, när han vaknade upp satt de andra i lokalen och stirrade på honom med stora ögon. De berättade att han plötsligt rest sig upp, rak och stel i kroppen, och börjat prata med en annan röst än hans egen. Sture blev chockad. Han hade inget som helst minne av vad som skett och tänkte att han hade förlorat förståndet. Rösten hade sagt att han, Sture, utsetts att vara en kanal för ett medvetande som kallade sig Simeno. Ett medvetande som ett år senare kom att lämna plats åt Ambres.

Sture Johansson fick internationell uppmärksamhet på 1980-talet då Shirley MacLaine reste till den lilla byn i Värmland för att träffa Ambres och sedan berättade om honom i sin självbiografi 'Ut på yttersta grenen'. Då blev det stort ståhej i media och sedan dess har Sture Johansson helst undvikit offentligheten. Men 2003 träffade han Anders Grönros, fick förtroende för honom och gick med på att låta sig filmas.

I Anders Grönros stillsamma dokumentär om hans möte med Sture och Ambres försöker Anders förstå vad detta handlar om. Han vill utmana sin uppfattning om verkligheten och han vill berätta om fenomenet utan att ge några egentliga svar ? det är upp till varje person som tittar att bilda sin egen uppfattning. Under en timme får tittaren växelvis möta Sture, den enkle snickaren och hans vardag i Värmland, och Ambres som rakt in i kameran delger sitt budskap om självkännedom. Ambres menar att han vill hjälpa människor att hitta den fantastiska kunskapen som alla bär inom sig, och därmed se vilka vi är bortom alla våra roller. Skådespelare, företagsledare, läkare, präster och alla möjliga sorters människors söker regelbundet upp Ambres för att få ta del av hans livskunskap.

Ambres - A 3000 year old consciousness that speaks through a simple carpenter.

It was the mid 1970's, and Eastern styles of meditation were becoming popular throughout Europe and Sweden. Sture Johansson's wife joined a meditation group that he was reluctantly coaxed into attending. Sture couldn't understand how supposedly sane adult grownups found it necessary to close their eyes and block out the world to find peace and enlightenment. Being tired at the end of a long workday, he usually drifted off to sleep during these meditation sessions. One evening he suddenly woke up to find the entire group staring at him. He apologized for his behavior, thinking that he may have been snoring. 'You haven't been asleep' was what he heard from several of them. 'Someone else took over your body' Apparently, a voice completely different from his own, had stood up and announced to the group that Sture had been chosen to be an instrument of communication for a very special purpose. Sture was communicating with an entity called Ambres who lived 3000 years ago in Egypt.

Sture Johansson got his international reputation in the 80's when Shirley McLaine went to the little village in Värmland/Sweden to meet Ambres, and then wrote about him in her autobiography 'Out On A Limb'. She also shot some of the scenes here, for the movie with the same name. It created quite a stir in the media and since then Sture has avoided all publicity. But he felt confident with Anders Grönros, when they met in 2003, and said yes to the making of this documentary.

Anders Grönros seeks in this quiet documentary through his meeting with Sture and Ambres to understand what it is all about. He wants to challenge his own comprehension of reality and tell us about the phenomena without giving a certain answer - it is up to every person who sees the movie to form his or her own opinion. During an hour we get to alternately meet Sture, the simple carpenter in his everyday life, and Ambres that speaks straight into the camera about his message of self-knowledge. Ambres wants to help us find the beautiful wisdom we all carry deep inside, to see who we really are behind the roles we play. It is all different kinds of people - actors, businessmen, workers, doctors, priests - that on a regular basis meets with Ambres to be a part of his teachings of life.

Full DVD with menus including 72 min bonus material. Swedish with english subtitles. The DVD was shrinked from original size to DVD-5 format, in order to simplify burning (burn image) on a one-sided single-layer DVD disc (4.7GB).
