Been described as "The Clash meets Johnny Cash". The guys in this band have played with everyone from the Mekons to KMFDM to Jesus Jones. Mininova only lets me pick one category... country, or punk? Punk or country? I'm going with general Rock so the most people will find it. :-)

The Waco Brothers began as nothing more than an excuse for a bunch ofaging punk-rockers to scratch their itch for country music. A couple ofEngland's Mekons and members of the American Midwest bands Wreck andthe Bottle Rockets got together in Chicago to romp through theirfavorite Johnny Cash and George Jones tunes. But as so often happenswith country music, the more these musicians scratched, the more theyitched. Soon it wasn't enough to just do faithful covers; then they hadto write their own songs and come up with distinctive arrangements thatdid justice to both their honky-tonk heroes and punk roots.
